Pizza, I Love You!

Pizza is definitely one of our favorite foods. You can never go wrong with carbs and cheese! On Sunday, Jay and I were out and about and getting hungry for lunch. Jay said “I’m in the mood for pizza!”. A pregnant woman never turns down pizza, so we decided to try a place we had never been before, Boca Pizzeria.

photo1 The weather was so nice and I was happy to see they had an outside seating area. We quickly got our menus and water. My eyes went straight for the pizza side of the menu. Jay and I decided to split the Calabrese pizza, which is basically a Margherita pizza with fancy salami on top. It was deeelish! The crust had just the right amount of chew and the pizza had just the right amount of quality toppings.

photoOf course we couldn’t stop at one little pizza! We also split the Grilled Lamb Sandwich. Our original plan to get two pizzas was squashed when we saw this on the menu. It was packed with arugula, caramelized onions and a nice slathering of herb pesto. The flavors were perfect. My only issue was that there was a big piece of fat on my lamb, luckily I spotted it before I took a bite. The salad that came with the sandwich had the perfect dressing, with a wonderful lemony/creamy balance. I would love to have their recipe for it.

It was a great lunch and we will definitely be back. Next time I might even save room for dessert. Are you more of a sandwich or pizza person?

  1. Lately I have been more of a sandwich person because it seems easier to throw together than a pizza. BUUTTT I loveee me some pizza. I usually make my own these days cause vegan pizza shops are rare!! HOWEVER this meal looks AMAZING!

  2. I love both pizza and sandwiches, though lately, pizza gives me acid reflux so I’ve been trying to not eat it too often. And I survived on sandwiches in college. Love em.

  3. I am more of a pizza person, but being born and raised in Italy, I am extremely picky when it comes to pizza, so in this case I might have picked the sandwich, which sounds like an absolutely heavenly combination of flavors! Yum.
