Hi there! I’m sorry I abandoned everyone. I haven’t had a day off work since January 27. UGH. Luckily work is calming down now, and they won’t have to see the wrath of the cranky pregnant lady. But I’m psyched to have only 9 weeks left! I can’t believe my countdown is now in the single digits. Now for my overdue update…
Baby O’s Size: Pineapple – about 16.3”, 3.2 lb
Baby O’s developments: All 5 senses are working! His brain and nerve growth is on the fast track.
Currently Craving: The usual…burgers and chocolate chip cookies.
Weight gain in the past 2 weeks: .4 lb (21 lb total)
Sleep & Dreams: Tons of dreams as usual! I’m pregnant in all of them. For those preggo women out there… were you pregnant in your dreams too? Sleep has been pretty good. I still haven’t woken up in the middle of the night to use the bathroom. I get uncomfortable and switch sides often every night, but usually don’t have an issue falling back asleep.
How I am feeling: In the afternoon, it’s pretty much a guarantee that my back hurts. I’ve also noticed some swelling in my legs at the end of the day. I had really bad heartburn on Sunday, but luckily haven’t had any since then. Emotionally, I feel like I’m ready for Wyatt to be here. Some days I feel like preganancy has gone by so fast, but some days I feel like it’s been taking forever! But we are slacking in the fact that the house is not prepared at all for a baby. Once we get rid of the queen size bed in our guest room (which should be in 2 weeks), it will be a mad dash to get the baby’s room ready.
Evidence of Pregnancy Brain: Left the house without any makeup on to go to work today. That has never happened before.
Movement: He moves more on some days than others, but the last few days he’s been squirming around a lot.
Appointments: Childbirth class at Marin General Hospital was a whole day last Saturday, and it was definitely an eye opening experience. I think Jay is still recovering, poor baby. The nurse covered every topic from early labor – natural labor – epidural – c section. Almost every woman in the class raised their hand when the teacher asked who was planning a med-free birth. Haha! Then one of those mommies asked how many women actually get one. The answer is…85%! These women have no clue what they are in for. I had a kidney stone and the pain was beyond horrific (I have been told by multiple women that it’s the equivalent of labor). Epidural all the way for me! The tour of labor/delivery was great. The labor rooms are HUGE! Every room is private and the size of 2 regular hospital rooms.
A few tidbits from the class:
- Bring Emergen-C to drink during labor (since you can only have clear liquids during active labor)
- A 2 night stay is required for a normal delivery, 4 nights for C-section (if you are unlucky enough to have the baby at 12:01 am, that does not count as your first night)
- Bring your own pillows and robe
Exercise: 3 workouts in the past 2 weeks. No bueno, but I’ve been so friggin tired!
Innie or outie: Innie
Stretch marks: None yet, woohoo!
Rings on or off: On
Maternity wear: Jeans, jeans, jeans. My sweater in the pic above is pre-pregnancy. It’s not going to last much longer.
Baby related purchases: Last week we went crazy at Target’s big baby sale! I bought the Snug a Monkey Swing (and got the matching bouncer FREE!), Medela Pump in Style breast pump, Boppy, Motorola video monitor, and some pacifiers. All of these were on sale saving us tons of $$. Plus, these sale items had free gift card promotions, and now we have a $50 gift card to Target to go back again.

I can’t believe you have reached single digits already! That is exciting! The hospital that you are going to deliver in sounds nice!
I’m sure the baby’s room will come together very quickly. I hope you will post pictures
So excited for you!!! I cant imagine swallowing a pineapple
I’d love to see pics of the baby room when you have everything set up!
Wow, that sucks you’ve had to work so much! Glad things are slowing down. It is crazy how little time we have left – I’m sure it’ll go really fast.
Glad work’s slowing down! Don’t push yourself too hard… that’s just asking for cankles.
And nice job at Target!
Omg I can’t believe you’re already in the single digits!! looking great mamma!
As for dreams, I always seem to have the baby around alread in all of mine. They still don’t really happen very often though.
Can’t wait to see what you guys end up doing with your nursery!
You’re still looking beautiful! I hope by the end you look at least a tiny bit chubby somewhere other than your belly or all of your previously-pregnant blog readers are going to be really mad at you. LOL
By the way, if you think pregnancy brain is bad, wait for newborn-sleep-deprived-momma brain.
Yay for single digits! I’m sure the last few weeks will FLY by!
You look fantastic!! I am totally with you about not feeling like the house is prepared. I feel the same way. I keep “waiting for my baby shower” but that’s this Saturday, so now I have no more excuses LOL
Only 9 weeks left!! For me, these last several weeks have FLOWN by, so don’t forget to relax and breathe! Good luck getting the baby’s room together & great job at Target – we bought almost all the same stuff and love it all (so far)!
I’m not pregnant, but I occasionally have dreams that I am. Just had one the other night where I was in labor and the doctor said she didn’t have time to see me, and I should go to Milwaukee (I live in Green Bay). Weird!
Wow! He will be here so soon! No worries, I know you guys will get his room all ready in plenty of time!
That’s so exciting! Glad to hear everything’s going well
I like you’re tips you learned from class!
You look amazing!! So exciting! Soon your baby boy will be here!!
Trust me when I say epidural all the way
I had a wonderful labor and delivery and I wouldn’t have changed anything I did
That pic gives me goosebumps!! I’m so happy for you, not long now. You must be so excited! All the best and strength (and patience) in the next few weeks !!
I’m looking forward to attending my birth prep class next week. I feel like there is SO much I don’t know. Sounds like you guys learned a lot too. And I hope that for work schedule slows down a bit for you — I can’t even imagine how exhausted you must be.
