Weeks 25 & 26 – Feeling Huge

Happy New Year! Sorry for the hiatus! I thought since I was taking a vacation from work I’d take a blogging break too.

Baby O’s Size: Head of Lettuce – about 14”, 2 lb

Baby O’s developments: He now has eyelashes. His immune system is building up in preparation for the outside world.

Currently Craving: Burgers and chocolate mostly. With Christmas goodies in the past 2 weeks, satisfying my sweet tooth hasn’t been a problem.

Weight gain this week: 4.4 lb (16.2 lb total) …over 4 lbs in 2 weeks, ugh! I feel like I have been getting exponentially bigger. I’m hoping it’s the baby’s growth spurt.

Sleep & Dreams: Sleep is going slowly downhill, waking up every night seemingly wide awake. I had a weird dream that I forgot to feed the baby and he started shrinking. That was scary!

How I am feeling: I am definitely starting to feel generally uncomfortable a lot more now. I feel like my bump has been getting bigger and bigger every single day. I can’t imagine growing for another 14 weeks. I already feel ginormous. I also feel a little more tired than usual. Besides that everything else is going pretty well, no swelling yet and headaches are still at bay.

Evidence of Pregnancy Brain: I attempted to put the restaurant check book in my purse as we were leaving.

Movement: My whole family has actually now seen the baby move, so cool! Jay finally felt Wyatt move last night. He’s been moving a lot lately, especially the past few days. It feels more like nudges than kicks.

Appointments: On New Year’s Eve I took the Glucose Test. Apparently my doctor prescribed the 2 hour test since it’s more accurate. Lucky me. They drew blood 3 times, once at “fasting”, then after 1 hour and after 2 hours. Luckily those nice nurses were all very gentle. I should be getting the results back this week.  Glad I had Gone Girl on my new Kindle to keep me entertained!

Exercise: I worked out a grand total of 3 times in the past 2 weeks. I am now making a serious commitment to do something every weekday, whether it be a DVD or walk on the treadmill.

Innie or outie: Innie

Stretch marks: None yet, woohoo!

Rings on or off: On

Maternity wear: If I haven’t said it a million time… Jeans!  The top in the photo is pre-pregnancy.

Baby related purchases: I didn’t personally buy anything, but my mom and sis went insane buying clothes! Wyatt is officially spoiled already. He got tons of Christmas gifts and he hasn’t even made his debut yet.

  1. I hear ya on the feeling huge… but you look great! I think your belly feels bigger than it really looks (that’s how I feel anyway). Yay for baby movements! I’ve had a hard time sleeping lately too because of Braxton Hicks, baby kicks and general discomfort. But I’m always entertained by Emma kicking up a storm in the middle of the night. Welcome back!

  2. I hope I look as great as you do when I’m pregnant! And I think I’ve gained more weight than you have in the last week with my Christmas treats. :) I love chocolate, but I’m ready to take a break!

  3. We’re in the same boat- I feel huge and like I’ve gained more weight recently too. I think you look great though. I feel like the second trimester was probably the most flattering and then you kind of go on to just plain enormous in the third tri! I have also had similar cravings- burgers, chocolate, sweets.
