The first thing I said to Jay when I found out we were moving to California 6 months ago was, “There better be a Trader Joe’s there!”. Now, I go there about once a week to stock up. I love TJ’s because the prices are good, and there are always new items to try out. Here are some reviews of a couple products I’ve loved…and one not so much.
Butternut Squash Triangoli – this was one was one of my first finds ever. The subtly sweet and savory filling is my idea of perfection.
For the sauce I sauté the diced Trader Joes pancetta (and sometimes onion) in butter, then toss in the triangoli, and cover with Parmesan cheese. I could eat this every day!
Organic Wood Fired Pizza – I got this on a whim last week since I was home alone on Friday and that’s when I love to get my “junk food” fix. The box looked promising.
Unfortunately, I was really disappointed. I had to add cheese because what it came with was so sparse. The crust was very tough, almost cracker like. I won’t be getting that again!
Roasted Butternut Squash Salad – The ingredients intrigued me and I couldn’t pass it up. It makes a great quick lunch. I threw some leftover chicken into the mix and I think it was the perfect addition. The combo of flavors is great and the wide variety of colors are eye pleasing. I would definitely get this again!
What new food finds have you been craving lately?

I love the butternut squash trangoli too! It’s so good. I really like the sweet potato gnocchi from TJ. If you haven’t tried it yet, you need to. It’s so good
I’ve been craving sandwiches..these aren’t new..and definitely not exciting, but it’s what I’ve been eating like crazy!
I love this pasta….I want to eat it all right now! Cute blog!
I’ve never been to a Trader Joe’s but it sounds like they have good food (most of the time). I haven’t tried very many new foods lately – I’m too lazy and tired to think outside the box. But I have been loving stirfrys which I hardly ever used to eat before.
Yum – these are great TJ’s finds! Now that I am finally close to one, too, I will definitely be trying them out. Especially that butternut squash pasta…
Oh how I wish there were a Trader Joe’s near me. These look fantastic!!!
We live in the sticks where the nearest TJ’s is 90 minutes away. I am very sad about this. Even more so now.
Oh man I love Tj’s! There was one 2 hours from where we lived in GA, and I would find any excuse to to go to Atlanta so i could hit up TJ’s. But sadly now, there is not one close here in El Paso. I’ll just have to live vicariously through you!
Haha I never realize how much I miss a place until I read or hear about it. Totally forgot about Trader Joe’s and now it’s the only place I want to go. I need to add it to my list for when I’m back in the states! Now if only I could drink some of their wine…
