Our first “real dinner” out (I guess ordering pizza doesn’t count) was at Brick & Bottle. We made a last minute reservation on a Friday night. It was pretty busy! But the beginning of the meal was odd, when our server’s greeting was “Are you going to order wine or something?”. Now onto the food!
Beet Salad – very fresh, loved the addition of the lentils
Duck Confit Pizza – of course I HAD to order this. Duck cooked in it’s own fat with a cheesy crust? Bring on the heart attack!
It had tons of duck, very flavorful, good crust.
Orzo Mac & Cheese – Unfortunately, it was not as great as I thought it was going to be. The orzo was cooked perfectly, but the flavor of the sauce reminded me slightly of the Pasta Roni I used to make in college. But that said I ate almost all of it, hehe.
Skirt Steak – It was cooked very well and had loads of flavor. I especially loved the potatoes! Jay devoured most of it. He loves his meat.
I would definitely return here. They had very good service (except for the greeting). Next time I’m saving room for dessert. I heard they make a kick booty rum cake.
What is the craziest topping you have had on a pizza?
Whoa! Duck pizza? Sounds interesting, but it actually looks really good!
I’ve never had duck before, let alone on a pizza but this looks SO GOOD
glad you enjoyed your meal.
haha- I’m cracking up because your comment about the orzo is ringing really true “even though it was like pastaroni, i ate most of it anyway…” I feel like that quite often. Doesn’t stop me from cleaning my plate, even when I should stop haha
