Wine & Chocolate Weekend

I can’t believe it’s Monday again already!  After taking a Zumba and “Butts n Gutts” class at the gym this morning I spent the rest of the day cleaning and packing.  I’m off again…this time to my home town of West Palm Beach to visit the family.  Not sure why I was crazy enough to plan so many long flights back to back, but it’s gonna be fun!  I can’t wait to see everyone!  On to the weekend… Saturday Jay and I went to Zinfest in Lodi, CA.  It was a beautiful day for some good wine and food.

We got to sip a-l-o-t of wine in these pretty little glasses.

It was pretty packed!  They even had a cooking school, but I was too busy tasting wine.

They had some good food options there.  We ended up with pizza.  Jay got the Italian Sausage.  Besides the crust tasting a little burnt in some parts, it was meaty cheesy goodness!

I got the pear & gorgonzola.  I wish there has been more cheese, but I always love the sweet savory combo.

On Sunday we went to the Oakdale Chocolate Festival.  They had tons of booths, rides and food vendors…but it seemed like less than half of the food vendors were chocolate.  At least they had some really cool cars!

One of the food vendors had BBQ and Filipino dishes.  They had lumpia, a dish I had never tried before.  It’s basically a really skinny eggroll filled with a thin, cigarette size amount of pork.  They served it with one of my favorite sauces, sweet chili garlic.  I savored each crispy fried bite.

After surveying the options (and being hot enough to melt) I got a frozen fruit kabob dipped in chocolate.  Mine had strawberry, banana, and pineapple.  The banana was the best, but the pineapple was a very close second!  The strawberry was too icy, meh.

After all that eating and drinking over the weekend, we chilled on Sunday night and watched Game of Thrones and RHONJ.  Yup, my husband loves the New Jersey Housewives. hehe.  Did you drink wine or eat chocolate this weekend?
