Quick Eats in the City

We spent so much time running around in NYC, it was crazy!  The Big Apple has street food everywhere, and lots of restaurants where you can pick up a quick bite.  Of course, the breakfast of choice is a famous New York Bagel.  Our first stop was Ess-a Bagel, which luckily, was only about 7 blocks from our hotel.  Surprisingly, it wasn’t too packed!  But it still feels like you are a little rushed.  I quickly ordered a yummy bagel and coffee.

Jay had an everything with bacon, egg, and cheese.  Through the mouthful mumbling I think I heard  “thers is rilly goooood”!

Mine was the everything with scallion cream cheese.  This is probably my go-to order at a traditional bagel place.  Unless I’m in the sweet mood and get a cinnamon raisin with walnut raisin cream cheese.  It was warm, dense, and a little chewy.  The cream cheese was loaded with crunchy little scallions.

After breakfast, we did a little wandering.  Jay, my in laws, and I headed to Chelsea Market.  It’s another foodie heaven!  They have brownies, cupcakes, cheeses, olive oils, nuts, seafood.  It would be fun to go everywhere and taste all they have to offer.  But the problem was I was a little full.  We slowly walked by Bar Suzette, a crepe bar in the market.  The fullness went away when my mother in law suggested we get a Nutella crepe! YAY!  We decided to split one with Nutella, bananas, and strawberries.

The crepe was delicious!  The Nutella was melty and warm (sorry for the blurry pic).  The contrast of the bananas and strawberries was perfect with it.  I’ll split another crepe with her any day Smile

Are you a sweet or savory crepe person?

  1. oh when I was in NYC I enjoyed several delicious bagels, one of which was from ess-a-bagel. They just don’t make them like that many places around here!

  2. There’s no [perfect place two eat that rather in New York City. It is the best and so delicious. Oh men I’m craving now to eat that :)

  3. I just love the nutella ever.. I used to have it with bread and even with other recipe I can invent with..

  4. Hi Natalie, I’ve got to say I’m a ‘sweet’ crepe kind of girl! When it comes to Bagels though, then I’m definetly a savory lover, cream cheese especially.
