My First Foodie Penpal!

I’m back from Florida just in time for my first Foodie Penpal post!  It’s a great way to try out new foods and check out new blogs. Check it out!  There is still time to join for June.    If you want to check out the goodies I  sent to Renae, go to her blog, The Twisted Kitchen.  My package was sent to me by Monica, a blog reader who also lives in Cali.  I was so excited when I opened the package!  The first thing I tried was the water.  When I saw it had “flower essence” I got a little freaked out.  I don’t want to drink potpurri.  But you couldn’t taste it at all.  It was just a very refreshing water, perfect for gym hydration.

The next day I needed a quick snack to tide me over for an hour or so before I was able to grab lunch.  Since the Fig Bar only had about 60 calories I chowed down.  It was sweet and chewy, a perfect mini snack!  I bet it would be great crumbled on top of some yogurt too.

How could anyone resist a cookie shaped like a butterfly?  I have to admit, I’m not a huge fan of orange in my sweets, but these cookies were crispy citrus goodness.

Loved the tea box!!!  Haven’t tried it yet, but I will very very soon.

I really needed agave nectar!  I had put it on my shopping list but forgot to buy it.  Maybe it would help if I actually LOOKED at my list while I shop, haha.  So far I’ve used to to sweeten my coffee and used it as a syrup for my protein pancakes!

Which of these would you want to try the most?

  1. Looks like some great things you received! I will have to join in one of these months! Also, that gorgonzala + pear pizza — oh wow! I’ve never had pear or pizza, but I’m thinking I must try it sometime :) Thanks for visiting my blog! Have a great weekend!

  2. How nice! It’s always heartwarming to get a package, esp if it’s food. In Korea, there is a “flower essence” chewing gum that I really love. And Japan has a lot of cherry blossom flavored stuff. Flower flavor can be really delicious!
