Pancake Flights! Just Say Yes

Two Words: Pancake Flight. Oh yes, Snooze was at least in the Top 2 breakfasts I have ever had the pleasure of eating (The other has to be Woodstock Inn). Snooze was one of the restaurants the sis said we “had” to go to. We got there at about 9:30 on Saturday morning. There was a 60 minute wait, and even with hunger bitchitis gnawing at me bones, I decided to wait. After almost exactly 60 minutes we were seated and I quickly ordered a cappuccino to temporarily satisfy me.

I wanted almost every single thing on the menu. Even the benedicts look good to me (and I hate non-scrambled eggs)! My sis’s bff and roomie, Aspen, ordered the dish named after my precious doggy (that’s my story), The Bella Bella Benny. It consisted of : Thin slices of prosciutto, Taleggio cheese, and perfectly poached eggs on toasted ciabatta, topped with cream cheese hollandaise, balsamic glaze and arugula.

I tried telling Bella about her namesake, but she said "bennys are gross" and went back to bed…

My sis and I were having a hard time deciding, and the server suggested to split the Pancake Flight and something savory. Uhhhh… Panckake Flight?! I’m in! Here were the delicious pancakes. I really couldn’t pick a fave…they were each utterly perfect to me.

Pineapple Upside Down Pancakes: Buttermilk pancakes with caramelized pineapple chunks, housemade vanilla crème anglaise and cinnamon butter

Red-Eye Velvet Pancakes: Red velvet buttermilk batter topped with espresso infused maple syrup, a touch of cream cheese frosting and chopped pecans.

Pancake of the Day: Buttermilk Pancake with Cappucino Chips, Cream Cheese drizzle, Fresh Raspberries and house made granola

Then we also split the Sandwich I Am… a soft pretzel roll filled with scrambled eggs, cheddar cheese and a sausage patty, served with a side of smoked cheddar hollandaise & house hash browns. The hollandaise was so creamy and tangy and perfect. I slathered it all over the hasbrowns and sandwich. The bread was great, but not as pretzel-y as I thought it would be. And look at all that cheese!!! Me love cheese! Nom Nom Nom. Needless to say I left with a huge smile and a huge belly.

What was the best breakfast you’ve ever eaten at a restaurant?

  1. Wow, this all looks incredible! I love pancakes, but my favourite restaurant breakfast would have to be either scrambled eggs with smoked salmon or huevos rancheros :D
