Here is another segment of Three Things I’m Lovin! Here is what is making me happy this week…
1. Ezekiel Sandwiches
I’ve been eating these every single day for the past month for lunch. Of course, Ezekiel is probably the best bread for you. But it’s very tasty too, perfectly nutty and robust when slightly toasted. I have some Barney Butter & Black Cherry Preserves… Turkey & Hummus… and Chicken with Goddess dressing. This week’s sandwich of choice, Boar’s Head Low Sodium Turkey with Light Laughing cow and some Buffalo sauce.
2. The Girl that Played with Fire
I’m still not even half way through this book and it’s full of action packed drama. I’m a little slow since I finished reading first book over a year ago. I still haven’t seen the new The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo movie (but I did see the Swedish version last year and it was good!). So glad I have some good books to read after all my Harry Potter and Twilight withdrawals.
3. Incline Walking
Lately I’ve been doing walking more than running at the gym. Today for example I walked at 3.7 starting at 6.0 incline, then every 2 songs I bumped up my incline by .5. At 30 minutes I increased my speed to 4.0, then I cooled down from minutes 35 – 38 at 1 incline doing 3.0. I love running, but it’s nice to get a good incline walk in once or twice a week. Here are some benefits of incline walking!
- Burn almost triple the amount of calories by walking on a 10% incline versus 0%
- Increase cardiovascular fitness without risk of injuries from running
- Test showed that people walking at 3.0 on a 16% incline burned 70% more calories from fat that runners on a flat surface, which burned more calories from carbs.
- Walking on an incline increases leg muscle activation. Incline treadmill walking activates the muscles of the calves, hamstrings and glutes…more than running on a flat surface.
What are you loving this week?!

That sandwich looks delicious! I like incline walking myself as well. When I’m feeling too tired to properly work out I like to take some work to read through at the gym as well! This week I’m loving eggs as a cheap source of protein – I’ve got loads of them and I’m trying to come up with different ways of eating them so I don’t get bored!

I am horrible and never finished those books. My sister kept pushing me to finish them but I never made time.

Totally craving a sandwhich now – I keep Udi’s GF bread in stock just in case it hits! Wish I could eat Ezekial bread – sounds perfect!
I don’t walk much any more, but it is great for keeping your HR in the fat burning zone – plus, there is reason hiking is so popular! Love it!
Okay so I’ll be honest – I’ve really been wondering about Ezekiel bread lately. It seems to be all the craze in the blogworld and a couple of my health nut friends in my city are into it too. I’m glad to hear you say that it’s really delicious as well!

I have some Ezekiel bread I need to dive into. I love their cinnamon raisin. I’ve been eating lots of PB&berries!
The books are amazing – really detailed though. I’m reading Maria de los Santos’ books right now. I haven’t read the Twilight series though.
And I’ve seen lots of incline walking workouts. I may need to give it a try!

I LOVE walking on an incline. I’ve been doing it since high school, so like 10 years!
I love incline walking! And all the benefits really prove why I need to include it in my routine more often
