I’m back from the weekend! It was a great one! On Saturday I had my first road 10k and finished in 62 minutes. I know I could have gone faster but I got this painful blister towards the end, ugghh! I wish I could post some pictures but they haven’t put them up yet. Like the nerd that I am, I spent the rest of that day playing with my iPhone 4s, hehe.
On Sunday I needed to load up on all the calories I burned, so we went to the Seminole Coconut Creek Casino to gamble & eat! We signed up for the Players club and then headed right to the Fresh Harvest buffet. Becoming a players club member gives you a $3 pp discount to the Sunday Champagne Brunch. It was a grand total of $21.95 pp for unlimited champagne, all you can eat crab legs, and other goodies. I was starving when I devoured my first plate, as evident by its emptiness. It was a tasty blueberry blintz, sausage, and a really tasty chocolate croissant like pastry.
As I was about to go up for round 2, Jay was munching on his favorite part of the buffet…the crab legs! He ended up eating two three four big plates and then finished up with some bacon and prime rib…that’s my hubby!
I had to dig in to the crab legs too…they are messy but worth it! They were sweet and succulent.
Due to my constant hunger and excitement over the food…I also missed taking photos of my 3rd plate, which was sushi. They have really good tuna & avocado rolls there. My dessert was crème brulee. It could have been a little crunchier on top, but it was perfectly sweet and very creamy. I also wanted to try some chocolate fountain action but for some reason it stopped working. Oh well! The Fresh Market is still a great deal on Sunday if you like champagne & crab legs!
After downing the rest of our champagne we were ready to gamble a little bit. The casino was pretty crowded. I think the nasty weather helped bring some people in. It was not a good day for the beach! We used our $25 match play cards for slots & blackjack, and ended up winning $200! That made for a great end to a great weekend.
If you could create your own buffet, what would be on it?

No better way to celebrate running an awesome race than with a buffet!!
congrats on the run!
Thanksgiving dinner is ALWAYS my favorite buffet. I cannot wait for the holiday. Looks like an awesome weekend and congrats on the 10K time!!!
blister and all, thats a great time! and nice refueling, not a bad blogger. Good blogger for enjoying that dish!
That was a great run even dealing with a painful blister! You go woman
Love creme brulee! I always pig out after raced too haha..
62 minutes is great! I can’t imagine having to deal with a blister during a race, that must have been miserable!
I can’t take pictures in restaurants. I can’t get over feeling self-conscious. It doesn’t really matter, because I don’t post food pics very often…but still, I wonder if someday I’ll feel comfortable enough to take pictures of my food in public places!
I am telling you, buffets get me every time.
Sometimes I am also a bad blogger. I just won’t always feel like lugging my big camera around places.
Glad you enjoyed yourself. Sorry bout the blisters. No fun.
Mmm that creme brulee looks delish!
Mmm… it all looks so tasty!
Mmm..I love creme brule!
If I could have a buffet filled with Mexican foods and then desserts at the end, it would be perfect.
