Pizza Weekends

I’m so sorry I’ve been absent since Friday!  Work has been insanely stressful.  I feel like I have no time to do anything (I’m at Starbucks as we speak, I think I’m gonna be lunch blogging from now on).  One thing getting me through these hectic weeks is thinking about the weekends.  One place Jay and I go to ALOT during the weekends is Sicilian Oven.  It is our absolute favorite pizza place.  I go there so often, I rarely take pictures and just realized I’ve never done a review, so here it is!

We started with a nice bottle of wine, Castronovo Montepulciano d’Abruzzo, from a vineyard owned by Paul Castronovo, a local SoFla radio DJ.  It was a smooth but hearty wine that is a great match for Italian food.

We ordered our new favorite menu item, the Stack of Sicily.  It’s layers of fresh mozzarella, fried eggplant, and fresh tomato. It is served with a sweet and tangy balsamic glaze that really hits it out of the ballpark.

Every bite is perfection!  The crispy, cheesy, fresh and tangy dish is the perfect appetizer!

Next we got our go-to pizza, The Boss.  It has fresh tomato sauce, fresh mozzarella, and basil.  All their pizzas are cooked in a wood fired oven, so the pizzas come out “well done” but not burnt.  You can just tell the pizza is put together with care.  The pizza is not heavy or greasy at all.  I could eat this every day!

Sicilian Oven is always outstanding, it’s great to have a place so close to my house that has such great food and service.  Now if only they delivered….

Do you have a favorite restaurant you go to a lot?

  1. Not sure if you are near Miami.. but when I was living there I would go to Little Saigon once a week (or more). It’s in North Miami.

  2. That pizza looks amazing! I’ve been loving pizza lately.

I love going to this sushi restaurant near me. The best part is that they constantly email me $15 off coupons. So it makes for a somewhat reasonable night out. :)

  3. that pizza does look amazing. i love how the title is pizza weekends…makes me think of curling up on the couch in sweats, watching a movie, eating pizza for breakfast, lunch and dinner two days straight :)

  4. Now that looks like something special, I have pizza weekends too. Much less now than I used to but I would take whole weekend to relax and base it on nothing but eating pizza
