Will Run for Thai

Another great weekend is over. I think there needs to be a three day weekend every weekend! I went on an almost 4-miler on Sunday in what I am pretty sure was 90 degree weather. I was so relieved when it was over. But I can’t complain too much when I get a beach view on my run.

Of course I needed a decadent dinner to make up for my run! Hehe. We had a Groupon to Thai Spice that was going to expire in 2 weeks so I thought It would be a perfect choice for dinner. The first thing we ordered was a bottle of Evolution, a white blend from Oregon that was perfection. It wasn’t oaky or metallic, and had a subtle sweetness that was ideal for a hot night.

For an appetizer we ordered calamari with a sweet spicy chili sauce. It was very lightly breaded and the exact blend of sweet and spicy that I like…almost to the point of “nose sniffles” heat, but not quite there.

Jay loves his steak so he ordered the Dry Aged Strip. The green stuff is Bok Choy, and the sauce you see on the top is called “Tiger Tear” sauce. The steak was cooked to perfection and the sauce added a great contrast and spice to it. It was wayyyy spicy! I saw all the chili flakes on top and still dunked my finger in there to try it (great manners I know, hehe), wowza it was hot! But luckily the heat didn’t linger too long.

I loved my entrée, Shrimp & Scallops with Green Curry. Both the shrimp and scallops were HUGE and cooked to perfection. I loved the richness and mild spice of the green curry sauce.

Thai Spice is probably the best Thai restaurant I have been to in South Florida. The service and food is impeccable and the portions are huge. Too bad I didn’t even get into Thai food until about 2 years ago.

Do you have any favorite eats you wish you tried sooner??

  1. I love Thai food!! Especially pad thai, but I rarely order it because it’s LOADED with calories and sodium. But Mama Pea has a healthy version in her book so I’m going to give it a whirl. But oh yes – spicy shrimp is sooooo good!!

  2. I love that picture of the beach! So pretty! I’ve actually never had Thai food before. I’ve always wanted to try it though. The shrimp and scallops you got look really good! :)

  3. Awesome, I will have to check this place out! I’m so boring when it comes to Thai food–I love pad thai so much, I’m afraid to try something different when I go out!

  4. Mmm thai is my favorite! I haven’t found a good thai place in my new neighborhood!

    I love pad thai, thai iced tea and green curry – oh and mango sticky rice {I never have room for it though, my belly is too full of curry!}
