Just another manic Monday, I wish it were Sunday….for realz! We had a great weekend. Jay and I kind of had a “girly” weekend full of shopping and pedicures, hehe. It was his first pedi and of course he loved it. Jay also lucked out with finding tons of clothes. I of course only got one thing, a cute dress from the surf shop. Between pedis and shopping, I ate some healthy stuff I swear (Shakeology, a Tuna Sashimi Salad, etc etc). But the only time I remembered my trusty camera was for this meal.
We went to Rok: Brgr because I had an expiring Groupon…and I heard it was truly delicious. They had a pretty decent beer list too. I chose Magic Hat #9… it was nice and refreshing on a hot day.
Jay chose Abita Turbodog. It’s my 2nd favorite Abita Beer… #1 is Abita Amber. Turbodog is a great nutty dark beer. I’ve been pretty much obsessed with Abita since going to NOLA and touring the Abita Factory.
After watching tons of burgers walk by us (we were very close to the kitchen), ours finally arrived! I ordered the Las Olas Burger, which had “Kobe” beef, caramelized onions, and Gruyere. It was juicy and full of flavor!
I got some sweet potato fries on the side. They are hand cut on the premise and most of them were perfectly crispy on the outside and mushy on the inside. I did have one though that was a little raw. Raw potato is no bueno. There was also some homemade bbq on the side, it was perfect dipping action for the fries.
We will be going back here for sure! Jay is the burger connoisseur of the family and he gave it 2 thumbs up. They have lots of other menu items I want to try. The service was really good and it has a good atmosphere. I will just try to avoid the weekend nights when the area gets uber packed.
How was your weekend??
P.S. I will be having a spectacular GIVEAWAY tomorrow! Plus…you will get to pick your own flavors. I’ll give you a hint…It’s something bloggers talk about a lot (not oatmeal, hehe).

OMG I am drooling over the thought of a kobe burger-I must try that place. I love that you all had a girly wknd! Also glad you linked the Abita tour post, I can’t wait to read it!
those are the thickest SP fries i’ve ever seen! *drool!* I’d rock out there with some beer and snacks anytime =)

Okay – you know you’ve done a good job making people salivate over your meal when it’s 8am and they’re craving burgers, fries and beer
