Weekend in O-Town

Hi Everyone!  How was your weekend?
I went to Orlando to visit family and see my sister run in the Disney Half Marathon.  At first I have to say I was a little jealous….I should have signed up, but thought I didn’t train enough.  Now I think I could have done it…dang!  But as I was walking to the finish line to get my spot in the stands I got really excited!  It is so exhilarating to see all these racers at the finish line.  They had the music pumping as people were coming in a steady stream.  My sis finished in 2:53 and we were waiting for her friends to come in.  Then, all the sudden I hear “Meredith Viera & Al Roker”…whaaat?  I couldn’t believe I missed them crossing the finish line.

My sis (on the far right) and her friends, “Team Focker”, everyone did such an amazing job!

Later that night, my mom and I went to Adriatico in College Park to grab some dinner.  It’s a cozy place on Edgewater drive that has had some great reviews.  It was an excellent dinner!

My mom and I split the Caprese Salad.  I loved that they had a balsamic glaze on the dish.  I could have eaten that on it’s own!  My mom had the Grilled Chicken Caesar.  I have to say…the Chicken was the best tasting grilled chicken I’ve ever had on a salad.

When I saw they had homemade gnocchi on the menu, I could not resist!  I am a gnocchi addict and almost always order it when I see it on a menu.  One of the options was to get it with Gorgonzola sauce, which is another one of my must eats.  Stinky cheese is so good!  You could definitely taste the gorgonzola, but it didn’t overwhelm the gnocchi at all.  It was a great meal to top off a great weekend.

Is there anything you love to eat that you HAVE to order when you see it on a menu?

  1. Before I started cutting dairy out of my life, my boyfriend and I would order the spinach/artichoke dip anywhere and everywhere! :)

  2. I bet that was a lot of fun. I can see how tough it would be to have wished you would have entered though. Next year!

  3. It's simple, but I am a sucker for a mixed green's salad with roasted nuts, fruit, and a crumbly cheese. I'll also almost always order a veggie or tofu stir-fry if brown rice is available!
