Eat Some Dice

Here are some handy comparisons for getting the right portion sizes. Most of us miscalculate what we eat every day. A scale is a great tool to use, but if a scale isn't handy or you're dining out, here is a great way to eyeball your portions!

3 oz. meat: size of a deck of cards or bar of soap
3 oz. fish: size of a checkbook
1 oz. cheese: size of 4 dice
Medium potato: size of a computer mouse
2 Tbs. peanut butter: size of a ping pong ball
1/2 cup pasta: size of a tennis ball

This is very useful! Thanks for the visuals!! I'm all about portion control, when I realized that I was eating about 4 times the daily recommendation for cheese, I was shocked, but you're right, if you don't have a visual to compare it to, or a scale attached to your hand, it's pretty hard to judge!

Those visuals are how I learned to judge my food portions too. I have a scale but I don't have to weigh all the time now.
