My Story

Hi! Thanks for reading! I’m Natalie, a 32 year old Floridian who is staying in shape. I have often struggled with my weight. But now I finally know what I have to do to maintain myself and my health. I love to cook, travel and dine out! It’s all about maintaining a healthy balance of food, fun, and fitness.

Since about 4th grade I was overweight (PIC above is from 2005). Summer of Junior year in high school I worked my booty off at the gym. This was during the “low fat” craze so I cut down my fat and overall calorie intake by probably too much. I also went to the gym about 5 days a week. I went down to 117 lbs at one point, which was too low for me.In college, I went up and down alot (mostly up!) There were too many keg parties, Pokey Sticks (the best thing ever), and 4am Taco Bell trips. By Junior year, my weight was stabilized in the mid 140′s, but I still was not completely happy or healthy.
After College I stopped working out and ate out alot with my friends. In November of 2006 I was at 155 lbs and unhappy. One day I saw Turbo Jam on the internet and decided to buy it. It was the best Idea I ever had! I lost 10 lbs in 1 month and felt great! I kept doing other Beachbody Programs like Slim in 6 and weighed in at 135 lbs by March of 2007 and lost tons of inches. I went down to a size 6, my lowest size in my adult life!

Then I thought I could maintain at the gym but I was wrong! I kept slacking and lacked motivation. I maintained my weight but missed the fun Beachbody programs and community. Then I decided to become a Beachbody coach, so I can help others with their goals too.

Now, I mix Beachbody Programs, Running, and going to the gym to keep in shape!

It took me years to realize that me slacking off for a week always leads to slacking off for months. Tracking food and fitness works wonders…I’m not slacking this time.

Highest Weight: 160
Current Weight: 135

I’ve had a very busy 2010…I got engaged on my 30th birthday, got married to the love of my life, and moved twice! In the process I gained a little weight…but I also gained a passion for running! Now it’s time to put all my loves together to have a happy and healthy year.

4/30/12 UPDATE:

Hi everyone!  2011 was an exciting year!  I completed my first half marathon in under 2 1/2 hours.  It was such an exhilarating day!

Also, my husband and I just moved to Modesto, California!  Life in the Central Valley is so far so good.  The best part it is so close to so many wonderful things in Cali.  I’m so excited for more adventures!

  7. As a beachbody devotee myself who struggles with balancing life, fitness and my love for desserts, I love your story! I can only hope I am as fortunate to be blessed with such a wonderful 30th birthday! Mine is coming up shortly and providing great motivation! Fingers crossed!

  8. Hi Natalie,

I like your site! Very well done. We haven’t formaly met but I look forward to meeting you one day. I just began the program and basically I jumped in the first day the CD’s arrived and got started. I have finished day three now and am excited about the journey ahead of me. I am working on getting all my data and pictures done and added to the Beachbody site and hope to have it all finished this week. My kitchen is stocked with the good stuff now and am already enjoying the menu. I started with the MEAL plan. We fill it will work best at this point.

I’m not sure if there is anything else I should be doing at this time. If you could give me a To-Do-List or guide me to a place on the web site that will guide me and maybe hold my hand a little until I get familiar with everthing, I would appreciate it.

Thank you in advance for your help,

    Joe Foster

  9. Great work!! I am working on p90x now and I love how I have a regimen of exactly what I need to do each day/week. It keeps me on track for sure :) keep up the good work!

  10. Hi Natalie. What a cool story. Congrats on your fitness success. I found your blog through the Miami New Times. I wear many hats, one of which is a track coach. So I’m sure you will understand why I Love your blog name:) I was a collegiate sprinter and currently jog 5 days a week. There is nothing like a runner’s high. Running isn’t for everyone but leading a healthy lifestyle with some sort of daily exercise regimen does a body GREAT!…especially if you’re a greedy foodie like me lol:)
    Keep up the great work.

  11. I just joined wordpress as a new blogger, and have been trying to figure out a blog name for the past week….I must say that I absolutely LOVE the name of your blog! So catchy! Looking forward to following your posts :)
